Google Business Profile · Chicago area

Get your business on Google Maps, and keep the listing right

For Chicago-area owners whose Google listing is half filled in, out of date, or not claimed yet. We set up your Business Profile as part of a Growth website ($800) and keep it current under Care, from $49 a month.

Why it matters

Where nearby customers find you

When someone searches for a barber, a dentist or dinner nearby, Google shows local results drawn from Business Profiles. Google says those results depend mainly on how well a profile matches the search, how far away the business is, and how well known it is. How well known a business is includes how many websites link to it and how many reviews it has.1

You can’t change your distance from the customer. A complete, accurate profile, and real reviews from real customers, are what you can work on.

Google doesn’t charge for a Business Profile.2 The work is in filling it in properly and keeping it current.

Setup

What we set up on your profile

Setup is included in the Growth website ($800) when it fits your business. We confirm the scope before any work starts. If you only want help with your profile, say so in the brief and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can take it on.

Access

You stay the owner. We join as Manager.

Ongoing care

Keeping the profile current, under Care

Care can cover ongoing profile work: $49 a month for Launch and Growth sites, $89 for WordPress sites, or $299 for institution sites. We confirm the profile work in writing before it starts. It can include:

Care can be cancelled anytime.

Site and profile

Your website and your profile should say the same thing

When we build your site, we write its page titles and its schema to match your profile exactly. Schema is the code search engines read for your name, address, hours and services. That way your name, address, phone and hours are the same everywhere Google looks.

The profile’s website button should point to your own site. Google turned off the websites it made for Business Profiles in March 2024, and their redirects ran only until June 10, 2024.5 If your button still points to one of those, it needs a new link.

Questions

What owners ask about Google

How do I get my business on Google?

Create or claim a free Business Profile in your own Google account, verify it, and fill in your category, hours, phone number, website and photos. If you’d rather not do the filling in, add us as a Manager and we’ll do it.

How much does it cost to get my business on Google Maps?

Google doesn’t charge for the profile. With us, setup is part of the Growth website ($800), and ongoing care is covered by Care from $49 a month.

Can you get me into the top three on Google Maps?

No one can honestly promise that. Google says local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and how well known a business is, and that ranking can’t be bought. What we can do is make your profile complete and accurate, and make sure it matches your website.

My profile is suspended or won’t verify. Can you fix it?

We can’t promise reinstatement or a verification result, because Google makes that call. Tell us about it in the brief, and our reply will say honestly whether we can help before you pay anything.

Do I have to give you my Google password?

No. You add us as a Manager from your own account, and you can remove us anytime.

Can you make a new listing for my business?

We don’t create it for you. You create or claim it in your own Google account so you’re the owner, and we send you the steps. If you already have one, we never make a second: Google allows one profile per business.
